One fair point of concern that people have about a President creating the office of the Reeve is the problem of abuse of power in creating the office. The argument I get is that the President should not use this kind of power because it goes against the character of American government.

Fair enough. But let’s think about this for a moment because that argument is seriously flawed.

Lets say that a good President is in power and chooses to not create this office because it goes against the character of American government. OK. No problem.

But then lets say we have an evil President. Say, President Obama is reelected.

If the good President has the ability to create the office of the Reeve, then so does the evil one.

The good President won’t use the power to create the office. The evil one will because that is the nature of evil. The evil one would do it in a heartbeat. And the evil one’s version of the Reeve would be a perversion of the office the good President didn’t create.  The reeve of the evil one would be an instrument for abuse of power instead of a protector of the people against the powers of evil.

Are you following me so far?

If a good President had created the office, he could set it up to prevent a future evil President from doing the same thing. But he chose not to because he thought it was improper.

Now the evil President comes along. The evil President creates his vile version of the office because the good President did nothing.

If this power is available to the President, a good President must use it, and use it before an evil President comes along, to prevent the evil President from doing evil.

The President has the ability to create the office of the Reeve of the Constitution.

The Reeve has the ability to stop the evil President.

Its another no-brainer. The Reeve has to be created before its too late.

Stumble it!
