Do you know what the word “liberal” means?   It means having to do with liberty; freedom in other words.  The word should be said with reverence like when you say the word “mother,” or a Christian says “Jesus.”  Liberalism is something American’s should revere.  Anyone who believes in America should describer themselves proudly as a liberal.  Liberty is one of the cornerstones our American society.

Now, turn on conservative talk radio, or read a conservative online magazine article.  What do you find?  The speaker or writing using the word “liberal” with the harshest and most condemning tones.  Isn’t that bizzare?  What strange and horrible thing is happening here?

Recall Edward Hunter’s presentation before Congress in 1958 where he talked what brainwashing is.  Hunter explained that brainwashing in politics is not about taking individual aside and programming them individually to be automatons for the state.  Rather brainwashing in politics is about swaying the thinking of entire populations, like the Chinese communists did.

Political brainwashers like to use language as a tool.  Orwell described this in his novel 1984, where the brainwashers of Oceana created New Speak to sway the minds of the population.  Through changes in language slavery to the state comes to mean freedom, and freedom comes to mean slavery.

Modern American language gives us one of the greatest, if not the greatest, examples of all time of this use of language.  We see today  language being used with remarkable success, at least for the brainwashers.  The people who believe stand for freedom and the Constitution and the values the Constitution stands upon call themselves Conservatives.  Yet, we see find Conservates every day calling Leftist “liberals” with the greatest contemp and disdain in their voice.  Leftist of course are not liberals.  They are the exact opposite; they are statists, which means the exact opposite of liberal.  Statism is slavery.  Liberalism is freedom.

That has to be the greatest example of widespread brainwashing ever.  The Conservatives call slavery freedom and freedom slavery.  When they use the word “liberal” with contempt and disdain they help program others to have disdain for liberalism, which is freedom.  They do this in the name of freedom.

None of these Conservatives understand that they are working for the enemy.  “We have met the enemy and he is us!”

We can see a similar example of brainwashing in the way that Conservatives go after Leftists as if that is the way to fix America’s problems.  “If only we could defeat the “liberals” politically everything would be good and right again.”  Or so they believe.  The real way to make everything good and right again is to fix what’s broken in the Constitution.  (It needs to become actively enforced instead of passively enforced like it is now.)  As long as Conservatives keep their focus and their energies on fighting the Leftists they aren’t working at solving the real problem, and they are distracting others from solving the problem.  They can’t win the fight against the Leftists, because that fight is really a fight to make Democracy rational and moral.  Democracies by their very nature are irrational and immoral.  That cannot be changed.  That is one of the cornerstones of the Constitution.  The Constitution was meant to contain the Democracy by rule of law.  If the rule of law isn’t actively enforced the law is simply a fancy club for the politicians to bludgeon each other with by choosing whether or not to enforce a law.

We see Conservatives expressing disdain for “liberalism.”  We see them leading the the citizens into the distraction of battles that are lost before they begin.  We see them rejecting the idea that heart of Americas problems lies in a simple and repairable flaw in the Constitution.

I tip my hat to America’s brainwashers.  You have done a magnificent job turning the people who would be America’s greatest supporters into some of America’s greatest detractors.  And all but five or six of us in the entire United States can recognize what you have accomplished.  Brilliant.  Simply brilliant.
