I wrote a while back about one of the origins of the idea of including “all men are created equal” in the Declaration of Independence comes from Phillip Mazzei, one of Thomas Jefferson’s neighbors.  A classed society is problematic.  You have one set of laws for one group, and a different set of laws for another group.  People in a classed society have an uncanny ability to find ways to move between classes to their own advantage.

Mazzei and Jefferson understood that Roman classes were one of the main reasons for the downfall of Rome.

In the US today we have very clear classes.  There are classes protected by hate laws.  One set of laws applies to people who are members of those groups, but not to other groups.  The most clear-cut and evolving classes though are the classes being carved out by the American left.  First there are illegal aliens.  Illegal aliens have the same rights under American law as citizens, but don’t have the same obligations to support America.  They don’t pay taxes, or join the military.  Illegal aliens are not entitled to certain government give-aways, like food stamps, although many receive give-aways anyway.

The next class is the welfare class.  When someone accepts welfare they accept obligations to the state.  They have to follow certain rules to receive welfare.  They are exempt from certain obligations.

Then there is the government employee class.  Government employees are a privileged class.  They are protected by union rules.  They do not have to struggle to produce, like the rest of us do.  Their requirements for making a living are different from the rest of us.

The next major class are the rest of us.  We make things.  We struggle to support an increasingly oppressive  socialist government.

One of the techniques for a socialist government to oppress a free society is by creating classes.  By dividing, they conquer.  The create a society in which “all men are created equal” but some men are more equal than others.  Orwell understood this when he wrote Animal Farm.

There is currently a movement in the US to restore the Constitution.  The Constitution has been usurped in numerous way by our power hungry federal government.  I propose that before attempting to restore the Constitution, it is necessary that we first restore the Declaration of Independence.

If we do not restore our core values, we risk the same destiny of Rome.  Ultimate collapse and ruin from within.  The classes must go.

Stumble it!
