Yep he did it. Obama equated the Laws of Nature in the Declaration of Independence with the socialist ideas in the German Constitution.

“In our Declaration of Independence it reads that “all men are created equal” and that they have “the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” In Germany’s Constitution it reads that “human dignity shall be inviolable.”

What’s wrong with this?  I’ve never read or examined the German Constitution before, but this idea has been discussed at length by people like John Adams.

Germany’s statement of dignity is a statement of human laws. “Human dignity shall be inviolable.”  This says that  the state makes human dignity inviolable.  This is the core of what the Founders recognized as the beginnings of tyranny.

Compare this to the Declaration which says that all rights are natural and come directly from God. 

I also noticed how Obama edited down the phrasing of the Declaration so that God is all but written out.   I seriously doubt that Obama even understands the meaning of the famous phrases in the Declaration.  The Founders understood that virtue comes from God, not from statism.  Obama doesn’t get that.
