I’ve been looking at Cass Sunstein to figure out what kind of guy he is.  ”Kook” pretty much sums it up.  Unless you also want to add “communist,” “socialist,” or “fascist.”

In 2004 and 2005 Sunstein was part of a group planning on redefine the Constitution in 2020.  They wanted to produces a new Bill of Rights of sorts.

From his 2004 book “The Second Bill of Rights: FDR’S Unfinished Revolution and Why We Need It More than Ever” we get this list of mandates:

• The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or farms or mines of the nation;

• The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation;

• The right of every farmer to raise and sell his products at a return which will give him and his family a decent living;

• The right of every businessman, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad;

• The right of every family to a decent home;

• The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health;

• The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment;

• The right to a good education.

Eesh!  The problem here is that we already have all of those rights.  The only one we need special government intervention for is the elimination of monopoly.  

What this guy is pushing for is a little different from rights.  He is pushing government guarantees of these things; food, clothing; shelter etc., which is not natural or civil rights. This is another case of “from each according to his need, to each according to his ability.”  He is a communist pure and simple. 

Obama’s in a hole, and he keeps digging it deeper, and deeper, and deeper…
