In her Facebook notes today Governor Sarah Palin weighed in once again on HR 32o0 dealing another blow to the proposed “death panel.” In an open letter addressed to Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz, Chair of the New York Senate Aging Committee, she swung and connected again, appealing to moral sensibility and concern for the elderly.
Palin, a devout Christian, reached out to Reverend Diaz supporting him in the fight against HR 3200. She mentioned “Jim Towey, the former head of the White House Office of Faith-Based Initiatives” as one of the people against the provisions of the bill. She admonishes the liberals saying of their proposed law that “… they could ultimately be used by government bureacrats to help determine the treatment of our loved ones. We must ensure that human dignity remains at the center of any proposed health care reform.”
This is a wonderful example of the first balance of powers mentioned in the Declaration of Independence, namely “the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God.” This is the classic fight of the reasonists vs the religious. The reasonists, in this case the current federal mob of liberals in control of government, want to rationalize some heartless and destructive laws. The religious, in this case Governor Palin and her crowd, are calling the reasonists out. They are fighting to keep the reasonists from committing harm, appealing to faith and compassion.
Given the many excesses of this administration and Congress, I see victories ahead in 2010 and 2012 because of backlash against the reasonists.
