Here is another way to look at Natural Law.  

Supposed you picked a group of newborn children at random and put them on an isolated island.  Let the children grow up with minimal outside intervention.  The children will develop a primitive society with primitive laws.  Leave them live on their island for a few thousand years without outside intervention.  Come back to them in a few thousand years and they will have a simple, but more sophisticated culture and laws. In the theory of Natural Law the children will develop values that are common to our more sophisticated laws.  Natural Law is the law that will naturally grow out of human nature. 

Here is another way to look at the Laws of Nature’s God, the laws of divine revelation. 

Suppose that when you picked the previously described group of newborn children, you also picked a group of adults at random but from a similar religious tradition.  Place those adults onto a similar island without outside intervention.  After you check in on the children from the previously described children, check in on these adults.  The adults will have developed a more sophisticated society with more sophisticated laws.  The tradition found in divine revelation will help the group of adults come to a sophisticated culture must faster than if they had started out innocently with no tradition to draw upon.
