Those guys who strap bombs to themselves and blow up innocent people, do you know why they do that?  They do that out of love of God.

When shrinks ask pedophiles why they molest kids, do you know what answer they usually give?  They do it because they love them.

When people cheat and have affairs, do you know why they do that?  They often do it because they fall in love with someone else.

Love by itself is not a virtue. Our culture tells us that love is innately good. It isn’t. Something more is required.

Love can drive actions that are positive, healthy, life affirming, and good.  Or it can drive people to negative behavior that is destructive, and evil.

It isn’t love that is good or evil, it’s the action that comes from it. I think we forget that sometimes.  When I imagine what an Amorian Church would be like, I see that it must be centered around the truth of love. The whole point of the Church must be to lead others to love well.  That means to love in ways that are positive, healthy, and life affirming.

The Christian teaching says that you should love God with all your heart strength and mind, and love your neighbor as yourself.  I must disagree completely.  They marketplace suicide bombers are expressing absolute love of God.  If you don’t have a healthy concept of how you should be loved, you will love your neighbor in an unhealthy manner.  So I must completely and absolutely reject the cornerstones of Christian doctrine.

I find virtue in the Amorian doctrine, which is to love well, in ways that are positive, healthy, and life affirming. This is the true Great Law.
